In Tim’s new book, The 4-Hour Chef, he teaches you how to be the “chef”, the “jefe”, of your life.
Once again, the word’s greatest lifehacker comes out with a game changer. This is another book that will teach you different ways to hack anything in your life.
Tim is a master at many things, and learning language is one of them. But he used to suck at it. He’s found a system that’s helped him learn more than 5 languages.
One time he learned enough Turkish on one airplane flight to pass a level 3 Turkish test once he landed. Ridiculous.
He did an interview on Mixergy recently where he talks about you can learn language very rapidly, among other things.
If you’d like to try your hand at a new language, there are two sites that will help.
MemRise.com is sort of a simulation of flash cards. One guy learned an African language, Lengala, in 22 hours of work.
LiveMocha.com is a free, online Rosetta-stone-like website that helps you learn languages naturally, and will even connect you with native speakers to help you learn faster.
There’s no secret page (that I know of – yet) on the 4HC website that will get you a sample chapter, but there are instructions on how to get a free sample chapter of The 4 Hour Chef.
The catch: you need to own a Kindle copy of either The 4-Hour Workweek (the “Expanded and Updated” editions) or The 4-Hour Body
.
From FourHourWorkWeek.com:
If you have a digital version of The 4-Hour Body or The 4-Hour Workweek , you now have access to The 4-Hour Chef chapter entitled “HOW TO USE THIS BOOK: CONFESSIONS, PROMISES, AND GETTING TO 20 MILLION.” It’s a funny read, a good primer, and it outlines the entire book.
If you don’t have digital copies of either of my two previous books, this is a good reason to grab one or both. Have you read The 4-Hour Workweek but not The 4-Hour Body? Now you have an excuse to grab 4HB
. Read The 4-Hour Body but not 4HWW? Grab a Kindle copy for $12.99

This video is hot off the presses! Less than 200 people had seen it when I found it.
It’s a great little synopsis of the book as a whole. I’m thinking “chef” is a much more broad term than cooking food in Tim’s world.
Check it out, and let me know what you think!
So I saw a page come up in my feed this morning: The 4-Hour Chef Bonuses and Extras.
I was elated! I went to the page…

What a tease!
However, it’s good to know it’s coming. The book will be here very soon – just a couple more weeks! If you haven’t preordered your copy yet, do it now!
And don’t forget to bookmark this page on Tim’s blog for up-to-the-minute access to the bonuses, when they finally do come out!

The 4 Hour Chef: Dinner with Tim Ferriss
Apparently oyster shucking might be another technique we learn in the 4 Hour Chef.
This guy apparently can do it 24x faster than anyone else.
Even if it’s not, I’m excited to hear about the different tricks Tim will share for all kinds of different things.
Tim Ferris might be one of the smartest authors around when it comes to promoting his books.
The 4-Hour Chef isn’t even out yet, and he’s got almost 500 entries in his trailer soundtrack competition.
Here’s the “ridiculous footage” that starts up the trailer:
I’d like to know why he had to use profanity on his official trailer, but I suppose that’s his prerogative.
You can enter the contest here.
Tim Ferriss tweeted the other day that he’s looking for line illustrators to work with him on The 4 Hour Chef.
So if you want to be a part of the next big cookbook (literally!), head on over to Tim’s contact form and fill it out! Good luck!

And here’s an example of the kind of stuff he’s looking for:
It’s officially official: there’s now a website!
The 4 Hour Chef finally has an official web presence with some basic material. Go check out the site at http://fourhourchef.com/
You’ll find a section for the book tours, so be sure to check back there often as Tim Ferriss might be headed towards your town soon! As of this writing, there are no dates, but I expect that to change soon.
The contents of the book are briefly mentioned. Obviously you’ll see recipes and cooking tips but something extra you might not have expected is this concept of “meta-learning”. I’ll write more about that later, but essentially Tim is going to show us some of his methods of hacking learning abilities to be able to live more efficiently. Very sciency, very nerdy, very awesome!
There are also several nodes to keep track of on the interweb for the book, so be sure to connect with them as well.
